Privacy Policy

RodeoReel (“RodeoReel,” “we,” “us”) is a mobile app for rodeo competitors, fans, and associations. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. RodeoReel is operated from Canada.

Who can use RodeoReel

You must be at least 13 years old. We ask for your date of birth when you sign up. If you are under 13 we do not create an account, and if we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13 we delete it. Your date of birth is used only to confirm your age and to keep messaging between adults and people under 18 separate. It is never shown on your profile and can’t be changed once saved.

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address, your password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider — we never see it), and your date of birth.
• Profile information you choose to add: your name, home base, bio, profile photo, the events you compete in, and the associations you follow. You control which of these other riders can see in your privacy settings.
• Content you create: videos and thumbnails you upload, video titles and tags, likes, reports, messages you send, your rodeo schedule, your draw information, and the rides you log (animal, stock contractor, event, and result).
• Notification information: a push-notification token for your device if you allow notifications, and your email address for email notifications you have not turned off.
• Usage information: counts such as how many times a video has been viewed.

We do not use advertising or third-party analytics trackers in the app, and we do not sell your personal information.

Device permissions

• Photos and videos: so you can pick a profile photo or a ride video to upload. We only receive the items you select.
• Location (while using the app): to show your route to upcoming rodeos on the map. Your location is used on your device and is not stored on our servers.
• Calendar: only if you choose to save a draw day to your phone’s calendar.
• Notifications: to send rodeo, draw-day, message, and tag reminders.

You can turn any of these off in your phone’s settings at any time.

How we use your information

• To run the app: your profile, feed, schedule, draw log, messages, and video sharing.
• To send notifications and emails you have asked for, such as tag confirmations and updates from associations you follow.
• To keep RodeoReel safe: reviewing reported videos and users, enforcing our rules, and protecting younger riders.
• To process subscriptions, if you buy RodeoReel Pro.

What other people can see

Videos you post, and the rider and animal tags on them, are visible to other RodeoReel users. Anyone with a link to a shared video can watch it in a web browser. Your profile details are shown to other users only according to your privacy settings. Messages are visible only to the people in the conversation.

Who we share information with

We use a small number of service providers to run RodeoReel. They process information only on our behalf:

• Supabase — hosting, database, sign-in, and file storage for videos and photos.
• SendGrid — sending email notifications.
• Apple and Google — delivering push notifications and processing in-app purchases. We do not receive your payment card details.
• RevenueCat — managing subscription status, so the app knows whether your RodeoReel Pro or association subscription is active.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users.

Where your information is stored

Your information is stored on servers operated by our providers, which may be located outside Canada, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to keep it secure, including encrypted connections and access controls on our database.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account in the app under Settings → Delete my account. Your account is held for 30 days in case you change your mind — logging back in during that time cancels the deletion. After 30 days with no login, your profile, schedule, draw log, videos, and messages are permanently deleted.

Your choices and rights

You can view and edit most of your information in the app. You can also ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, or delete it by emailing us. If you live in Canada, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under privacy law, and we will honour them.

Children’s privacy

RodeoReel is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email us and we will remove it. Riders aged 13 to 17 can use RodeoReel, but adults and people under 18 cannot message each other directly.

Changes to this policy

If we make important changes, we will update the date above and let you know in the app.
